[After Music Station '14 Feb. 7]

This is the audio track of http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/music/sec/artist/2013/140207.html with an English subtitle. This interview was done just after their appearance on MUSIC STATION.

Music Station is a famous music TV program targeting mainly young people, broadcasted by TV Asahi every Friday night. Besides the idols appear also rock bands and sometimes the foreign musicians who have come to Japan. Though it is a live music program, the music part is short (except for some big artists). For BABYMETAL, "IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI" was shortened from 6:07 to 2:30, with the 1 min. introducing video and the 1 min. talk with the host. BABYMETAL seemed to be very tense during the program because they knew how big it is while they seemed not when being with Metallica because they didn't know them well.

The video which I uploaded to YouTube was deleted 7 months later, and this was also deleted, so I uploaded this to Google Drive on 2016 May 14th. I hope it'll survive long. There is also the extracted audio track on Youtube.

Notes

  1. In "IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI", the fans usually do "dame" jump with YUI&MOA (= jump with arms crossed and the fox signs). In the program, the guests were taught how to do it before the tune started.
  2. Miss YUIMETAL actually said as if she would perform after this. Probably she was not sure of their performance until she watched the playbacked video.
  3. Since BABYMETAL and T.M.Revolution (a.k.a. Takanori NISHIKAWA) were lined up together in some music festivals, they may have got acquaintance with each other.
  4. Miss Yui & Miss Moa will graduate from junior high school in 2015 March.
  5. Miss Mayu WATANABE (19 yr) is a member of AKB48 (the big power "Idols"!). She has been a big fan of Miss Moa, BABYMETAL and Sakura Gakuin since early in 2011 (confirmed by her official blog). AKB48's fans say she seemed to be very merry to be with BABYMETAL.

[Interview on '13 Sep. 22]

In Short: about their daily life, what brought them to the metal, the impressions of the music festival and of Shiga.
This is a copy of http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm21891882 with an English subtitle.
This 9 min. interview was broadcasted on 2013 Sep. 22nd by niconico live (internet live streaming).

The artists were interviewed beside the stage just after their live performance, but BABYMETAL were interviewed just before the performance. The Inazuma Rock Festival was held on the lakeside of Biwa, Shiga Prefecture (between Kyoto and Nagoya). I'm sorry if the subtitle is too much to follow.

Notes

  1. "IE-NOMI" (= drinking in one's home) is an internet live streaming program hosted by Takanori NISHIKAWA. But he was busy as the host of the Festival, so Reo TSUCHIYA substituted him, who is a member of a chorus group "RAG FAIR" and has some radio programs.
  2. Actually, another "opening act" firstly performed on the stage, secondly the Governor of Shiga Prefecture declared the opening of the Festival's second day, then BABYMETAL performed.
  3. Omi is the old name of Shiga Prefecture. Omi beef is one of the top brands of "wagyuu".
  4. Miss MOA was grown up in Nagoya City, about 80km away from the site. The birth places of Miss Suzuka & Miss Yui are much farther from the site.
  5. I usually translate "Kitsune-sama" to "the Fox God", and they actually said "Kitsune-san", a less courtesy form which I translate to "Mr. Fox", but both are indifferent to male or female and she didn't actually say "him".
  6. Daemon Kogure was the leader of a heavy metal band "Seikima-II" (the End of the Century; already disbanded). He insists that they are daemons, their natural skin color is white-and-grey as shown on TV, and the pale orange skins found in the old photos are "the disguises to avoid public notice".
Of course BABYMETAL are not daemons but the special girls summoned by the Fox God.
  7. SU-METAL said the wrong date. The concert was held on December 21st.

Zukyun.  Dokyun.  Zukyun.  Dokyun.
I won't. Won't. Won't. Won't.  Never. Never. Never.

Check-it-out chocolate.  Can I have a bit of chocolate?
But my weight worries me a bit these days.
However, chocolate.  Can I have a bit of chocolate?
But wait a while!  Wait a while!  Wait! Wait! Wait!

Atatata tatata taatatata zukkyun.
Wadadada daada daadadada dokkyun.
Zukyun.  Dokyun.  Zukyun.  Dokyun.
Yet. Yet. Yet. Yet.  Never. Never. Never.

Check-it-out chocolate.  I can have a bit of chocolate, can't I?
But my weight worries me a bit these days.
However, chocolate.  I can have a bit of chocolate, can't I?
But wait a while!  Wait a while!  Wait! Wait! Wait!

  [[Give me!]]

  [Parappappappaa rappappappaa rappappappaapaa papapapaa.]
Too, too late. Too, too late. Too, too. Please! Please! Please! Come on!

  [[Give me! Give me!]]

Atatata tatata taatatata zukkyun.
Wadadada daada daadadada dokkyun.
Zukyun.  Dokyun.  Zukyun.  Dokyun.
I won't. Won't. Won't. Won't.  Never. Never. Never.

I did it very very hard.  I did my very best.
So, a bit (heart).  I ask you just a little bit.
Quickly chocolate.  Please give me chocolate quickly!
Pass me chocolate!  Chocolate, please!

Check-it-out chocolate.  I can have a bit of chocolate, can't I?
I think so, don't you?  It's so good.  I'll be so happy and can work hard.
So, chocolate.  I can have a bit of chocolate, can't I?
I think so, don't you?  Just a little bit.  I'll eat just a little bit of chocolate.
