[i] About "BABYMETAL say good-bye to Japan"
& "In Japan, Activity Halted, Mission Complete"

When hearing "Now we will advance to foreign lands" (in Japanese), Japanese fans were simply delighted. When hearing "BABYMETAL say good-bye to Japan", Japanese fans were a little worried.

The next morning, several TV shows reported in their entertainment sections that BABYMETAL performed at Budokan, halted their activity in Japan and would move their base to Europe. There was no such official announcement except the tweet "BABYMETAL have departed". However, the source must be the written information the management company (Amuse Inc.) sent to TV stations with the video material, as usual.

Some fans were really worried, but living in Europe was impossible because Miss Yui & Miss Moa belonged to Sakura Gakuin and were in compulsory education. The next day the official twitter tweeted "But the oracles of the Fox God are capricious, so they may suddenly appear in front of you" (in Japanese).

Looking back at the end of March 2015, it may be said BABYMETAL's activity in Japan decreased. The number of the concerts decreased from 24 to 10 in Japan (from 28 to 23 in total), comparing with from 2013 April to 2014 March. What is worse, 'he' hid BABYMETAL. They appeared less than before in Japanese mass media. Fans had few chances to hear BABYMETAL's own words. Sakura Gakuin gave BABYMETAL's fans some information of Miss Moa & Miss Yui (such as their school journal), but fans could get no information of Miss Suzuka except her figure singing on the stage. Fans call it survival confirmation to find her in the back stage photo posted by Sakura Gakuin's official twitter after their concert.

And, on 2015 March 29th, Miss Moa KIKUCHI & Miss Yui MIZUNO graduated from Sakura Gakuin... Congratulations...

Notes

  1. The word "武者修行(の旅)" (musha-shugyoo (no tabi); training journey) means the journey of samurai (= musha) who travelled around Japan and asked other samurai for lessons or challenged them to a (test) match. The word is antique (J-E dictionaries suggest "knight errantry" for it), but still used figuratively for the long journey of training.
  2. "Ninmu kanryoo" (= mission complete) is the phrase that was announced when Karen Girl's was disbanded. The group was formed to sing the theme songs of an anime, and Miss Suzuka was its member.
  3. Considering BABYMETAL's activity in 2014, there seemed to be nothing notable that corresponds to these three mystifying phrases except a new god of drums has joined to BABYMETAL's backing band (as a backup) and BABYMETAL held several concerts in Europe & North America in 2014.
  4. Legend "Y" was held in Paris on 2014 Jul. 1st and Legend "M" was held in Koeln on 2014 Jul. 3rd, but, before & after them, 4 concerts were held in Tokyo (they seem to have been added later). They were titled as "APOCRYPHA-I", "-II", "-Y" & "-M", held on 2014 Jun. 23rd, 24th & Jul. 21st. 9 or 8 songs were performed. The audience were about 1300 for each, limited to the members of APOCALYPSE WEB (the de facto official fan club).

"Seeno" and "isseeno" ( (3), 2, 1, (go!) ) are the interjections that are used, like "heave ho"(?), to match the timing when people work together. I don't know how to translate it. "heave ho"?, "get ready"?.
      *2
I can't hear clearly, but in the interview before the Budokan concerts, MOAMETAL said she wanted to entertain fully the audience in the furthermost row.
      *3
I'm not sure. I couldn't confirm there was the audience area called "piloti" in Budokan, but YUIMETAL seemed to address some of the audience, and I have no other likely words.

      は一般のお客さんに対してはもちろんですが、南ブロックにある関係者席のさくら学院メンバーや家族に向けて「心強いよ」と伝えているようにも思えますね。

    4. ありがとうございます。確かに「東」っぽいですね。
Thank you for your suggestion. "Higashi" is indeed more likely.

[YUI] Higashi, hyaa. / East side, yeah.

  2. I am not sure but perhaps the word 'tneshi' should be 'tenshi' at the line 'tsutsumareta butoo no tneshi ga'.

Thank you for your great translations, descriptions and explanations of the songs. I receive lot of very interesting informations from your pages. (^_^)

PS Do you know perhaps whether the keychain from the Budokan can\box (I am not sure how to translate... maybe this: 召喚棺桶キーホルダー三種) is only a (plastic?) shape or one can open it or inside is a picture (figure) or is it a box or something like that?

    1. Thank you for your correction. I've fixed it.
I don't have it, but as far as I know: It can't be opened. It is made of PVC and heavy (44g each). Each member's autograph is printed on each back of the three. No one seems to have cut it open to see the inside.

    2. I'm sorry. It's a printed signature, not an autograph.

Thank you for the answer. (^_^)
      It looks nice.
